Anyhoo, today he sends me a note telling me about an audition for Disney Hong Kong's production of the Lion King Celebration...they're looking for vocalists...I'm flattered because of the fact he's basing this recommendation on memory of my voice from a long time ago.
I won't be going to the audition, as it is tomorrow and I have neither resume nor photo let alone 16 bars of anything prepared.
I'm just really flattered he remembered my singing.

After a quick bit of research I have learned that the quote is actually:

AND, though I thought it was from the comics, it is actually from the television show!! It's from the 1966 season. Adam West said it as Bruce Wayne. Weird. Kind of a substantial line for a pretty campy show.

I mean, It's a romantic comedy, set at a Ren Faire. Does it poke fun at Faire's? Heck yeah. Does it look like it might be entertaining? Absolutely, in that light, romantic comedy kind of way. And you get to see Christina Ricci in a wench costume.
I think it could be really beneficial for the whole faire deal, by possibly increasing interest (and possibly revenue)for faires around the country.
And as for the mocking aspect, I think it's awesome. I sincerely doubt that anyone will get the impression that faire people are just a bunch of socially retarded, bumbling nerds.....oh wait. Heh. In all fairness, I'm not exactly sure what people are worried about, but Faire isn't so sacrosanct that it shouldn't be jibed a little bit...I mean the Simpsons, King of the Hill, and South Park have all done it already.
I'm actually looking forward to it.
